I'm coming to NY-trip and would like to check local climbing stores and places, would anyone know good places?

When are you coming?
The best climbing store (and climbing) is in the Gunks, about 90 miles from NYC.
If you want to climb when visiting you might as well see if you can put together a ride &/or a partner for the Gunks. Try posting here, [url]rockclimbing.com[/url] or on [url]mountainproject.com[/url]
There are busses from NYC to New Paltz (the nearest town to the climbing), then you could walk to Rock & Snow (the gear store) and bum a ride. [url]http://www.trailwaysny.com/html/english/fares.asp[/url]
