Traveling with a Crash-Pad

Hello out there.

I noticed in one of the climbing movies that some people had their crash-pads all wrapped up in plastic as they picked them up from baggage claim. I'm heading down to Atlanta in a few months and don't know what the standard operating procedure is for checking a crash pad into luggage claim. Does anyone know what the deal is? Does it need anything more than normal? Aside from tags with my name and address, is there any special precaution that I'll need to take? Any info will be greatly appreciated--Delta's website doesn't say anything about crash pads! Thanks.
