Bouldering in winter
Hi everybody!
This might not be the right place but I think this is the best way most people will see that :)
I will be in NYC in January and I saw all those cool boulders all over the city which is awesome! So I was wondering if it is a bad idea to go check them out considering it is winter time. I've never been in the city during winter and just don't know how bad it gets.
I'm looking forward to listening from you guys and girls.
Take care ;)
PS; I rule out going to a gym since they are so expensive and I am a student, which means no money :'(

No, I guess it is not a good idea...
I'll go check it out anyway :)
I hope this isn't too late, but if its above 28 degrees and more importantly sunny, then cat rock is a good p[lace to go. It recieves sunlight all day and warms up nicely. Unfortunately their are less problems or at least variations than at rat rock and the problems themselves start at a significantly harder level. Also you might want to bring a pad or at least a friend as it is higher and the ground less welcoming than at rock. Good luck.
Hey, thanks for your reply and for your advise. I'll try to stop by whenever there's nice weather.
See you!
i know you said you weren't looking for a gym, but did you concider CCC? I have a couple of friends that climb there and they like it and at $125 for 6 months it's the best buy around.
peace,
