New to NYC and wanting to get back to climbing

Hello everyone, I recently move to NY from Massachusetts. I want to get back into climbing after a severe ankle and ligament tear. I wasn't climbing long but I was around a V5 since I mostly bouldered. Im probably around a V2 at best and want to back into training. Since my ankle never healed properly I'd like to get on ropes and start learning to lead. Occasional bouldering though is a must. I haven't been to any gym yet here, but I'm looking for partners to climb with on a regular basis. Haven't decided which gym to join but some beta on which gym to start out would be cool.

Also looking to make a project and possibly do some photo shoots of climbers in the near horizon.

Hi - I'm just starting to go back to the gym after a few years off but have done plenty outdoors (was in CO all summer). Hence I am slowly getting my skills back.

I probably climb about a 5.9 right now and have never been a big boulder-er but am down for trying to get really into it again.

I've also done a fair share of leading...

So i'm looking at joining 59th St. for the moment as I'm a freelancer and cheap is great.

If you're down lets give it a go!

I'm just getting back to climbing after back surgery and would love to expand my partner pool so I can practice more frequently. Obviously, my climbing abilities are pretty rudimentary right now (seriously out of shape) but if you're patient enough to climb with an old lady (31) who climbs like a noob and will happily belay you on more challenging routes while I stick to 5.6 and below until I get my chops back, please feel free to contact me any time! I'm planning to visit the gym this Wednesday evening (12/17) and will thereafter be going 1-2 times a week at least.

Hey Kristin and Jon,

I am just back in NY after a few years in California. Working for a nonprofit in Manhattan (so cheap is good) and looking for someone to climb with after work some days because climbing is one of my favorite activities that I don't get to do as much as I would like.

I am about 5.9 as well, can lead climb and belay, boulder a bit, like the outdoors, and am pumped to make this happen sometime!

hi,
i'm only in new york city for 3 weeks (until 30th october) but i'd like to keep on climbing while i'm away from home (toronto). i mostly do top roping but have recently started leading. on a top rope my best will be 5.10c. i don't boulder lest i inflict more damage to a recently injured knee should i land but could use a top rope/lead partner.
i'm currently doing work at columbia univ. medical center and basically prefer to climb in the evenings or weekends.
let me know if you're still looking for a buddy.
cheers,
rizaldy

traveling from toronto and in NYC till 30 Oct. i'm writing to find a buddy for climbing (top rope/lead) while in town for weeknights or weekends.
