I don't live in Manhattan anymore and the gym in Stamford closed, so my choices of climbing indoors are either The Rock Club in New Rochelle, or The Cliffs in Valhalla. I climbed a few times at TRC as part of a day camp for kids (belaying mostly, with a few climbs to demo movement), so I can't claim to have an all-encompassing grasp of the gym, but ended up settling on The Cliffs as my home gym. As an AMGA-certified indoor and outdoor climbing instructor, experienced routesetter, and Gunks local climber, I feel that the routes at The Cliffs are challenging and thoughtful at every level, and the bouldering is fantastic. The climbing community at The Cliffs is vibrant and friendly, and the gym is well worth the trip. And no, I don't work there. :^)

I co-administrate (voluntarily - I don't get paid) a Meet-up Group that meets at The Cliffs, called the Westchester Climbing meet-up group; feel free to check us out.

Hope to see you at the gym, and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Cheers,
